Welcome to the Week 10 Quarterback Rankings!
We have six teams at rest this week so there could be slim pickins out there for some of you–depending on your situations. I’ve done my best to sift through what’s out there and I’ll keep grinding when I do the update. Maybe we’ll come up with another play to like, but I doubt it will come from the bottom three options. We have to draw a line somewhere.
In DFS, I’m very much on Lamar Jackson in his improved Week 10 matchup. After playing NE, he’s going to feel like a hot knife playing soft butter. The Bengals are a road apple. After Jackson, the guy I’m focused on is Jameis Winston, who gives you plenty of volume potential to go with 500 units in savings. I’m leaning towards a Chris Godwin stack.
I’ll be back in a bit with the wide receivers, running backs and tight ends.
Bye losses: Broncos, Patriots, Eagles, Jaguars, Texans and Washington.
WEEK 10 RANKINGS
All pricing was sourced from DraftKings.
|1||Lamar Jackson||BAL||7.300||BAL@CIN 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||He toasted them back in Week 6 and I would expect something similar here. He’s playable everywhere and stackable with Hollywood Brown, who looked close to full health last week.|
|2||Patrick Mahomes||KC||7.000||KC@TEN 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||Tennessee has a few key injuries (Malcolm Butler to the IR) on defense s this matchup is a tad softer than the numbers may indicate. Mahomes is practicing fully so he’s good-to-go barring something unforeseen. Fire him up as a QB1.|
|3||Jameis Winston||TB||6.800||ARI@TB 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||Killer matchup with the added Arians’ revenge game narrative. The concern here is obvious. We need Arizona to show up and score some points to keep the Bucs aggressive. The Godwin stack feels like a winner in that folks may be dumb enough to move away from him after a few slow games (if you care about ownership rates) but also because he should avoid Patrick Peterson due to his slot role. Vegas has the Bucs at 28.25 implied points, so I’m leaning in on this game. The Cards are at 23.75.|
|4||Drew Brees||NO||6.700||ATL@NO 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||Brees is a play to consider this week. His floor is pretty high though Atlanta needs to show up and score some points. If they stink it up, the Saints could become ground-based too early in the game for Brees to be an asset in GPPs. Easy stacks with MT and also with Kamara in smaller field tournaments.|
|5||Russell Wilson||SEA||6.500||SEA@SF 11/11/2019 08:15PM ET||Russ is a locked in QB1 in seasonal leagues but off the man slate in DFS this week. The matchup is pretty tough on paper but Seattle is tougher than most of what the 49ers have faced so far this year. Should be a good one for a change. I like a MNF game where I want to watch even if I have no fantasy action going.|
|6||Aaron Rodgers||GB||6.600||CAR@GB 11/10/2019 04:25PM ET||Some home cooking (Rodgers has been better at home this year) and better game pace should lead Rodgers back towards respectability here. The matchup is not at all easy but the surrounding elements and a healthy receiving group says we can fire Rodgers up as a QB1 in seasonal. Not really feeling him at 6600 units in DFS.|
|7||Matt Ryan||ATL||6.100||ATL@NO 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||It’s a tough matchup but he has the weapons to post some numbers and you know they’ll throw it plenty. Game flow should also lead to pass volume. The Saints should have little trouble scoring on the Falcons.|
|8||Dak Prescott||DAL||6.400||MIN@DAL 11/10/2019 08:20PM ET||Tough matchup, obviously, but being at home helps. Dak will throw plenty because you can’t just ram Zeke into this defense and expect everything to be ok. Minny is tough up front. Amari Cooper (knee) being dinged is bad, so keep tabs on him if you are considering whether or not to use Dak.|
|9||Kyler Murray||ARI||6.500||ARI@TB 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||The game should be played at a strong pace and that should lead to more production for Kyler. Stack with Kirk in DFS.|
|10||Philip Rivers||LAC||5.500||LAC@OAK 11/07/2019 08:20PM ET||Solid play but this game feels like it’ll be resistant to shootout status as both coaching staffs enjoy running and completing a high percentage of passes. Rivers is a QB1, I’m just not seeing a bg DFS ceiling.|
|11||Matthew Stafford||DET||6.400||DET@CHI 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||He’s piping hot, for sure, but this looks like a tough road matchup. He’ll throw plenty and the volume should get him decent end of the day digits, but the Bears big weakness is the void left behind by Akiem Hicks, and you need to run inside to exploit that. I’m not sure the Lions can get that done as currently constituted. This game has an ugly divisional feel. Stafford is playable in redraft but I’m not paying up in daily leagues.|
|12||Jimmy Garoppolo||SF||6.300||SEA@SF 11/11/2019 08:15PM ET||Another good matchup for Jimmy G though this one will be a bit tougher in terms of game script. It’s also off the main slate, but Jimmy is more playable now that he has a legit number one receiver in Emmanuel Sanders. That trade was brilliant.|
|13||Josh Allen||BUF||6.300||BUF@CLE 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||Cleveland has been a good matchup so I’m cool with using Allen in seasonal leagues BUT he’s not shown anywhere near his per game upside that he flashed last season. He’s not a guy I’m building GPP lineups around at this stage. If they get him running more, then mabye.|
|14||Daniel Jones||NYG||5.700||NYG@NYJ 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||Big upside. I like Jones some as a tournament play but he comes with plenty of risk. “Danny Dimes” has slowed down measurably after a hot start. The key to him having some success will be pressure. If the Jets can dial it up consistently (via blitzes), he’ll have a mediocre day. If he’s allowed to take shots at the Jets’ back end, he could go bonkers.|
|15||Ryan Tannehill||TEN||5.100||KC@TEN 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||He’s played pretty well by my eyes and I’m not a big fan, so he’s had to earn it. The matchup is solid and they will need to keep passing all day in my view, because Mahomes is going to rip ‘em up pretty good. Tanny is viable and I’d stack him with AJ Brown.|
|16||Kirk Cousins||MIN||6.100||MIN@DAL 11/10/2019 08:20PM ET||Tough road spot but he’s playable in seasonal leagues if you need him. He’s off the main slate for Week 10. The Vikings are a good bet to be more run-based here—leaning on Dalvin rather than exposing Cousins when their OL is overmatched as far as pass pro goes. Thielen being out hurts immeasurably in that area, because he runs shorter routes—oftentimes from the slot.|
|17||Sam Darnold||NYJ||5.800||NYG@NYJ 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||I'm standing strong on Darnold and the Jets skill players the rest of the way but Darnold himself is less of an asset than I originally anticipated and it’s ALL about the OL and some horrible coaching. The Giants are soft enough with their pass rush that Darnold should rebound in this spot. He’s playable if you are in need.|
|18||Jared Goff||LAR||6.200||LAR@PIT 11/10/2019 04:25PM ET||Goff is struggling. He’s been mediocre most of the season. I find it hard to get excited about him in this tough spot, without Brandin Cooks. No way I’m paying up for him on DK.|
|19||Ryan Fitzpatrick||MIA||5.200||MIA@IND 11/10/2019 04:05PM ET||He’s playable because volume. They will have no ground game here and maybe none for the rest of the year. Still, this matchup should make Fitz pay for being overly aggressive. I’m more on the Colts D than the Dolphins O.|
|20||Derek Carr||OAK||5.600||LAC@OAK 11/07/2019 08:20PM ET||He’s playable but as I mentioned with Rivers, I do not like the pace here and Carr has upside limitations as it is.|
|21||Brian Hoyer||IND||5.900||MIA@IND 11/10/2019 04:05PM ET||He’ll start if Brissett can’t go.|
|22||Baker Mayfield||CLE||5.000||BUF@CLE 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||He’s been too bad to think he’s going to break but against this good defense who can shadow OBJ with a single player. They need a play-calling/coaching change. Kitchens is obviously a Peter Principle guy as a HC. Avoid Baker outside of Superflex scenarios.|
|23||Kyle Allen||CAR||5.100||CAR@GB 11/10/2019 04:25PM ET||He’s been ok, but he’s not the kind of QB who ignites his receivers and he’s not going to make value-added plays with his feet to loosen things up and create a rising tide. In short, he’s good for CMC but not great for the receivers. He’s a viable Superflex option but I’d avoid him in single QB leagues this week.|
|24||Mitchell Trubisky||CHI||5.100||DET@CHI 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||How can we even consider using him after he shit the bed versus the Eagles? Answer. We cannot.|
|25||Ryan Finley||CIN||4.800||BAL@CIN 11/10/2019 01:00PM ET||I’m a bit of a fan, but he’s in trouble here—against a surging and healthy Ravens defense. If he gets AJ Green back, that will help some.|
|26||Mason Rudolph||PIT||4.900||LAR@PIT 11/10/2019 04:25PM ET||Mason Rudolph throwing at Jalen Ramsey? Yeah, no thanks.|
|27||Jacoby Brissett||IND||6.000||MIA@IND 11/10/2019 04:05PM ET||Pushing to play (MCL sprain) but not at all a lock and a tough start because he could easily leave the game early.|
