Welcome to the Week 11 Quarterback Rankings!
It could be a bit of a tough week if you’re looking to replace a QB like Wilson or Rodgers. The best streaming target who may be out there is probably Josh Allen or possibly Sam Darnold if Allen is unavailable.
In DFS, I’m already looking at Lamar Jackson and not in a point-chasing kind of way. His matchup is a good one and the has some upside potential if Deshaun Watson plays well.
Dak is squarely on the radar but can he smash if his team is crushing the Driscoll-led Lions? That scenario could favor Zeke. I’ll be wrestling with that one for a few days. Brees outdoors always scares me but he’s in a great matchup if you can look past his outdoors-on-the-road history. The aforementioned Josh Allen is a compelling play at 5,300 units. I’ll do a much deeper dive into this when I do the DFS podcast on Saturday.
By the way, Jim Hackett and I will be doing a trading deadline show tomorrow on WEEI, so check that out of you are looking to strike a deal before Sunday.
If you missed my Wednesday podcast with special guest, Sammy Reid (he was excellent!), you can listen below. It’s all about TILT, which is a topic that every single fantasy player should think about.
This article will be updated on Saturday as always. I’ll be back in a bit with the receivers, backs and tight ends.
Bye losses: Packers, Titans, Giants, Seahawks
WEEK 11 RANKINGS
Check out the Week 11 DFS Pod:
All pricing was sourced from DraftKings.
|1||Lamar Jackson||BAL||7.700||HOU@BAL 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||The Texans defense lost Clowney and now are without Watt. This is not the imposing crew we are accustomed to seeing. Given their issues on the back end, it’s hard to doubt Jackson here. He should find a way—and, if Watson can return fire, he have at least some shootout potential.|
|2||Patrick Mahomes||KC||7.000||KC@LAC 11/18/2019 08:15PM ET||On MNF from Mexico City—far from the main slate, Mahomes is still a fabulous seasonal play and if you are in DK contests that include Monday, he’s a great way to retain big ceiling while saving 700 units by coming off of Lamar.|
|3||Deshaun Watson||HOU||6.800||HOU@BAL 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||Watson is a seasonal must-play but there are some mild concerns in DFS as it’s probably easier to run on the Ravens versus pass now that their back end is healthy.|
|4||Dak Prescott||DAL||6.700||DAL@DET 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||For seasonal leagues, jut play Dak, but in DFS we’ll want to keep an eye on Matt Stafford, who would raise the Lions’ point ceiling if he plays. Driscoll at QB lowers the odds of a shootout and probably increases the value of Zeke Elliott.|
|5||Drew Brees||NO||6.900||NO@TB 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||I’m not a big fan of road Brees or outdoor Brees but this matchup screams volume and they have no way to cover Michael Thomas. If they get AK out into the pattern some, there’s big game potential.|
|6||Jameis Winston||TB||6.500||NO@TB 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||They are likely to be throw heavy so you just accept the bad plays and pump that volume into your veins. I’m feeling the Evans stack, but at this point, who the hell knows.|
|7||Tom Brady||NE||6.400||NE@PHI 11/17/2019 04:25PM ET||They should have a plan of attack that aims itself at the weak areas of the Philly defense. The Eagles are stout and they can rush the passer|
|8||Kyler Murray||ARI||6.100||ARI@SF 11/17/2019 04:05PM ET||They are getting things figured out some though WHY they feel compelled to use a clearly hobbled DJ. The dude was lumbering out there.|
|9||Matt Ryan||ATL||6.200||ATL@CAR 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||Sort of a compelling game that I plan on diving into a bit on Saturday. Sanu and Hooper being gone and out respectively serve to concentrate targets a bit. Devonta Freeman’s absence adds to that. So guys like Gage and Ridley have some stacking appeal north of what one’s initial impression may indicate. The fear is that they go run-heavy due to the Panther’s run defense deficiencies, but how much Brian Hill are they really prepared to give us? The health of Panthers CB James Bradberry is another factor to keep tabs on in this game.|
|10||Jimmy Garoppolo||SF||6.700||ARI@SF 11/17/2019 04:05PM ET||He’s playable for sure but he’ll be down some weapons in Kittle, Breida and quite possibly Manny Sanders, so factor that into your decision making.|
|11||Josh Allen||BUF||6.600||BUF@MIA 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||The Bills are not allowing Allen to run all over the place like last year (smart), and that has removed his ceiling in a pretty big way. His price screams bad value to me this week. He’s a solid seasonal play in a plus matchup, but the high-ceiling guy we’d hoped to see hasn’t shown up much in 2019.|
|12||Kirk Cousins||MIN||6.300||DEN@MIN 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||This game feels ugly and slow. The coaching staffs have familiarity as Fangio was in the NFCN last year. No Thielen (most likely) should lead to more running and Diggs should be locked down by Chris Harris Jr. Cousins is playable but the Broncos have been a tough QB matchup and I expect that to continue.|
|13||Philip Rivers||LAC||5.800||KC@LAC 11/18/2019 08:15PM ET||After what we saw last week, it’s hard to see the Chargers going away from the run game and the inside passing attack off of that ground game. It’s how the Titans beat KC and it’s how the Chargers have been trending overall since the switch at OC.|
|14||Kyle Allen||CAR||5.300||ATL@CAR 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||Good matchup as the Falcons do not cover well or gat after the passer much. Allen is stackable with all of his big-3 weapons, CMC, Samuel and Moore.|
|15||Derek Carr||OAK||6.100||CIN@OAK 11/17/2019 04:25PM ET||He should be good but volume should be limited as I expect this to be a Josh Jacobs kind of day.|
|16||Sam Darnold||NYJ||5.700||NYJ@WAS 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||Tough to trust, obviously, and his weaponry never really materialized fully as Herndon is now toast and Bell is banged up. They can’t protect well enough to take many deep shots. Still, this is a winnable matchup and Darnold’s looked a bit better lately.|
|17||Carson Wentz||PHI||5.400||NE@PHI 11/17/2019 04:25PM ET||Obviously a very tough matchup.|
|18||Jared Goff||LAR||5.900||CHI@LAR 11/17/2019 08:20PM ET||I don’t like the way he’s playing an I don’t like the game script here. He’s playable as a QB2. Off the main slate and I’d be out if they weren’t.|
|19||Jacoby Brissett||IND||5.900||JAX@IND 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||He’s on pace to return this week but Im not loving him without Hilton or Campbell and playing at less than 100 percent.|
|20||Nick Foles||JAX||5.600||JAX@IND 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||This game feels ugly as hell. It’s a divisional game where the coaching staffs are very familiar. Both teams are more than content to win ugly and Indy is down multiple weapons. Not a game I am looking to be involved with in DFS.|
|21||Ryan Finley||CIN||5.000||CIN@OAK 11/17/2019 04:25PM ET||Much better matchup this week and he’d be interesting if AJ Green were to suit up, but that’s looking unlikely.|
|22||Jeff Driskel||DET||4.600||DAL@DET 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||Not a great matchup and he’s obviously not Matt Stafford.|
|23||Mitchell Trubisky||CHI||4.900||CHI@LAR 11/17/2019 08:20PM ET||No effing way I want to play Trubisky—though I actually have to in one 2QB league. The Rams are a tough matchup.|
|24||Ryan Fitzpatrick||MIA||5.100||BUF@MIA 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||I’d rather just light my money on fire, to be honest. Everything about this matchup is bad save for in being in Miami.|
|25||Brandon Allen||DEN||4.700||DEN@MIN 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||No way no day. This is an awful matchup.|
|26||Dwayne Haskins Jr.||WAS||4.800||NYJ@WAS 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||Not enough weapons and Callahan’s offense is a Leave It To Beaver trip back to the 50s. None for me, thanks.|
|27||Matthew Stafford||DET||6.000||DAL@DET 11/17/2019 01:00PM ET||No practice and no positive vibes fo Stafford. I’m assuming Driskel gets another start but will flip them if Stafford practices Friday or is announced as starter. ***UPDATE*** He is OUT|
|28||Baker Mayfield||CLE||5.300||PIT@CLE 11/14/2019 08:20PM ET||(ALREADY PLAYED) Really hard to buy into him here—in a game where the other teams hits the QB and sacks the QB in excessive fashion. They want to target OBJ more, but unless they find a way to protect Mayfield, it’ll be mostly dink-and-dunk stuff.|
|29||Mason Rudolph||PIT||5.100||PIT@CLE 11/14/2019 08:20PM ET||(ALREADY PLAYED) I just don’t see it. His pass volume in a vacuum looks ok, but the results are not good and this matchup could expose his warts. With Conner returning, they could be more ground-based.|
