Welcome to the Week 7 Quarterback Rankings!
It’s a bit of a challenge to find a good quarterback this week if you are streaming in a 12-team league. Both of tonight’s choices are bad, and with Big Ben, Russ, Rodgers and Carr all out, there are plenty of teams looking for an Week 7 option. Hopefully these ranks will help you find you a streaming QB worth starting.
I’ll update these rankings on Saturday.
I’ll be back later today with the WRs, RBs and TEs.
Bye Teams: Packers, Steelers, Seahawks & Raiders.
Week 7 Rankings:
Check out my Who to Play article over at WEEI, if you are playing DraftKings this week.
|Rank||Name||Team||Salary||Game Info||The Skinny|
|1||Patrick Mahomes||KC||7.100||CIN@KC 10/21/2018 08:20PM ET||Pricey, but more importantly, he’s off the main slate, so get in a Thurs-Mon pool if you want to play him in daily. He should have another strong outing at home versus the Bengals. This is a great game to get involved on the whole—if you play the Thursday slate.|
|2||Jared Goff||LAR||6.600||LAR@SF 10/21/2018 04:25PM ET||This offense is rolling so Goff feels very safe. I not a big fan of divisional matchups, but this is a pretty good one.|
|3||Matt Ryan||ATL||6.500||NYG@ATL 10/22/2018 08:15PM ET||Ryan should have a nice game here. Both Sanu and Ridley are trending up in terms of their Week 7 status.|
|4||Tom Brady||NE||6.100||NE@CHI 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||He has enough weapons to deal with this defense. Quick hits to Edelman and the backs plus some ground game should soften the rush enough to take some shots as the game progresses. I think the Pats own the second half in this one.|
|5||Andy Dalton||CIN||6.400||CIN@KC 10/21/2018 08:20PM ET||Love him in this game, obviously. The Chiefs just don’t stop much of anything and the Bengals will need all the points they can get. Throw volume is all but assured.|
|6||Kirk Cousins||MIN||6.400||MIN@NYJ 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||The Jets want a piece of Cousins after he used them for leverage last offseason, but the matchup obviously favors Minny, with their pair of stud receivers. The Jets offense is just good enough to push the Minny offense some so this game has some potential in DFF. I see a 35-20 finish in favor of the Vikes.|
|7||Jameis Winston||TB||6.300||CLE@TB 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||He has so many weapons and that helps in this matchup. Cleveland can take take a weapon away and they bring pressure up the middle. This game will be a challenge for Winston, but he has the tools and the weapons to succeed.|
|8||Carson Wentz||PHI||6.000||CAR@PHI 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||Seems to play a little better each week. He’s still a ways off from his peak level, but you can see the “special” in his game again. He can do well in this matchup.|
|9||Baker Mayfield||CLE||5.800||CLE@TB 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||He’s played a lot better than some folks are claiming. As his team comes together around him, his stats will rise. I like him in this matchup. Tampa’s D is a joke against the pass. I’ll have a Baker/Landry/Njoku stack this week. At least one.|
|10||Philip Rivers||LAC||5.700||TEN@LAC 10/21/2018 09:30AM ET||Dangerous matchup because the Titans WANT to make every game as ugly as possible. They are playing with a QB who can’t throw the ball comfortably and all they want is a shorter game. Rivers will play well, but volume is an obvious concern.|
|11||Cam Newton||CAR||5.900||CAR@PHI 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||Tough matchup for him in terms of foot-points. He may have to do most of the damage with his arm. Not great.|
|12||Matthew Stafford||DET||5.800||DET@MIA 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||Miami shortens games by design and that won’t change with Osweiler starting, so some concern there, but I expect Stafford to play well.|
|13||Drew Brees||NO||5.700||NO@BAL 10/21/2018 04:05PM ET||Tough road matchup with winds expected to be a factor. Not a great spot for Brees. In my best Captain Lou Albano voice, he’s viable, but not desirable.|
|14||Mitchell Trubisky||CHI||5.600||NE@CHI 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||So many potential outcomes here, but I am leaning towards him having a solid day. He will probably lose the game, but he should deliver serviceable stats for fantasy GMs.|
|15||Joe Flacco||BAL||5.400||NO@BAL 10/21/2018 04:05PM ET||I like him fine here. You throw to beat NO and the wind in the forecast is not a big concern for Flacco, who has a big arm.|
|16||Andrew Luck||IND||6.200||BUF@IND 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||Tough matchup but he’s throwing so often that he’s a viable option if you need him.|
|17||Blake Bortles||JAX||5.200||HOU@JAX 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||He will have to throw often with so many injuries in the backfield.|
|18||Deshaun Watson||HOU||5.500||HOU@JAX 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||Brutal matchup. Honestly, I just hope he doesn’t get injured. His feet make him a viable option if you need him, but this matchup is clearly sub optimal.|
|19||Dak Prescott||DAL||5.300||DAL@WAS 10/21/2018 04:25PM ET||He’s viable. He’s never lost a game to Washington on four tries. Good to see him using his wheels last week. I hope it continues. They need Dak to stress the defense in any way he can.|
|20||Eli Manning||NYG||5.200||NYG@ATL 10/22/2018 08:15PM ET||He’s viable here as they will throw often and could get explosion plays from Barkley in the pass game. This matchup demands it. Big game for the Giants as far as fantasy goes. If they play this one vanilla, then there’s little hope for the rest of ’18.|
|21||C.J. Beathard||SF||4.800||LAR@SF 10/21/2018 04:25PM ET||He’s been better than expected but I’m not looking to use him here.|
|22||Alex Smith||WAS||5.100||DAL@WAS 10/21/2018 04:25PM ET||He’s playable, but he’s fighting an uphill battle right now with all the injuries around him, and as I said in August, he’s not in Andy Reid’s scheme any more. Gruden’s offense is a B version of Reid’s.|
|23||Sam Darnold||NYJ||4.900||MIN@NYJ 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||Has some upside but the Jets have too many injuries to skill players right now.|
|24||Brock Osweiler||MIA||4.700||DET@MIA 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||He’ll play for Tannehill and I expect the real Osweiler to make an appearance.|
|25||Derek Anderson||BUF||4.300||BUF@IND 10/21/2018 01:00PM ET||No weapons. No interest.|
|26||Marcus Mariota||TEN||4.900||TEN@LAC 10/21/2018 09:30AM ET||He’s not healthy. Avoid.|
|27||Case Keenum||DEN||5.200||DEN@ARI 10/18/2018 08:20PM ET||(ALREADY PLAYED) No thanks.|
|28||Josh Rosen||ARI||4.700||DEN@ARI 10/18/2018 08:20PM ET||ALREADY PLAYED) Just not there yet, but he’s playing better than his predecessor.|
