Welcome to the Week 9 Tight End Rankings!
Not much going on here. We’ll miss Austin Hooper’s production while he’s on the bye. The injury situation is pretty good with mostly healthy options. In DFS, the best option is off the main slate and so is Evan Engram.
There are a lot of ways to go with the tight ends this week, but I’m already finding myself looking at our hero from Week 8, Jonnu Smith. Jack Doyle could be a thing if Eric Ebron sits out. For those who want to spend, Darren Waller feels like the way to go. I’ll hopefully be more enthused about the position by the time I do the pod, but no promises.
This article will be updated on Saturday.

WEEK 9 RANKINGS
All pricing was sourced from DraftKings.
|Travis Kelce||KC||6.900||MIN@KC 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET||Always a TE1. Always. Even in a tough matchup like this one.
|Evan Engram||NYG||5.100||DAL@NYG 11/04/2019 08:15PM ET||Bounced back last week and could do very well here.
|Darren Waller||OAK||6.300||DET@OAK 11/03/2019 04:05PM ET||Good matchup, so keep him active and consider using him on DK.
|Hunter Henry||LAC||6.000||GB@LAC 11/03/2019 04:25PM ET||Tough matchup for sure.
|Zach Ertz||PHI||4.700||CHI@PHI 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET||Tough matchup, but still winnable.
|Mark Andrews||BAL||4.900||NE@BAL 11/03/2019 08:20PM ET||He’s hopefully ready to go now after the bye. Andrews has been banged up and it sort of culminated with an awful performance in Seattle in Week 7. This matchup is obviously tough as hell.
|Jonnu Smith||TEN||3.800||TEN@CAR 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET||Delanie Walker is still down, so fire up Jonnu and enjoy.
|Darren Fells||HOU||4.000||HOU@JAX 11/03/2019 09:30AM ET||Can he keep it going?
|Dallas Goedert||PHI||3.100||CHI@PHI 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET||He’s been ascending and you can start him when you need to.
|Greg Olsen||CAR||3.500||TEN@CAR 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET||Decent matchup but he’s been fading a bit.
|T.J. Hockenson||DET||3.700||DET@OAK 11/03/2019 04:05PM ET||Great matchup, so hopefully we see him running more routes this week. His big games have come in plus matchups. Not sure if it’s an organic thing or good coaching but I have hope here.
|Jason Witten||DAL||3.800||DAL@NYG 11/04/2019 08:15PM ET||His role is there. It’s not enough to make his tired dead legs worth starting every week, but he’s viable. And his role is there near the stripe too.
|Eric Ebron||IND||3.600||IND@PIT 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET||No practice (ankle) ***UPDATE*** Ebron will play and Hilton is out so he will see the ball a bit more.
|Jack Doyle||IND||3.000||IND@PIT 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET||Could have a bigger role if Ebron (ankle) sits. ***UPDATE*** Ebron will play but Hilton is out so both will see the ball a bit more.
|Ryan Griffin||NYJ||3.400||NYJ@MIA 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET||He scored twice last week and the matchup is good here so he’s a guy to use as a plug n’ play. Could easily get you 40 and a TD. Could also get nada, for what it’s worth.
|Noah Fant||DEN||3.000||CLE@DEN 11/03/2019 04:25PM ET||Targets and playing time are on the rise. Still waiting on the production but the kid’s talented so we still have hope.
|Jimmy Graham||GB||4.300||GB@LAC 11/03/2019 04:25PM ET||They just called up Sternberger so Jimmy had better get anabolic fast or he’ll be losing snaps.
|Cameron Brate||TB||3.100||TB@SEA 11/03/2019 04:05PM ET||Missed some practice (ribs) but seems on track to play.
|Jacob Hollister||SEA||2.900||TB@SEA 11/03/2019 04:05PM ET
|Vance McDonald||PIT||4.100||IND@PIT 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET||He’s been dead wood since the QB change and it makes sense.
|Kyle Rudolph||MIN||3.300||MIN@KC 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET
|Demetrius Harris||CLE||3.000||CLE@DEN 11/03/2019 04:25PM ET
|Ben Watson||NE||3.000||NE@BAL 11/03/2019 08:20PM ET
|Jeremy Sprinkle||WAS||2.700||WAS@BUF 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET||VD s out so he’s a factor.

|Irv Smith Jr.||MIN||2.700||MIN@KC 11/03/2019 01:00PM ET
|Josh Oliver||JAX||2.600||HOU@JAX 11/03/2019 09:30AM ET
