The Giants Backfield

Giants HC Tom Coughlin spoke up about his backfield in the wake of Da’Rel Scott’s release.  Based on what the coach had to say, Brandon Jacobs and David Wilson are both going to get a bump in value. Scott wasn’t producing much in terms of stats, but he was playing roughly half of the team’s RB snaps. Those snaps will now be divided between Wilson and Jacobs with Jacobs getting more of the carries near the stripe.

To us, this make Jacobs a player to add in 12-team leagues where he’s available and it makes Wilson a player to consider buying low on. His value has the potential to skyrocket if he can string a few good games together. The Giants have a solid matchup this weekend versus the Eagles. If you are inclined to act on either of these players, the time is now.

The last player to get acquainted with here is rookie Michael Cox, who is a player to watch at this point. And, lastly, don’t forget about Andre Brown, who will return for Week 10 or some time after that.
