Welcome to the Week 10 Quarterback Rankings.  I’ll be back a bit later on with the backs, receivers and tight ends.  As always, I will update these rankings over the weekend to reflect changing information and practice reports.

We’ve been busy this week, so check my updated Watch List and Trade Targets articles, and look for our weekly podcast tomorrow with my buddy Jim Hackett.

Here's a link to the podcast.

It’s not a terribly challenging week for QBs, with only one QB1 (Brady) on the bye.

Bye Weeks:  Patriots, Jets, Chiefs & Browns.

Drew Brees NO DAL No way are you sitting him here. This game is going to be a pass-fest.
Peyton Manning DEN @SD He’ll be good for solid numbers as usual though he does have a sketchy history with the Chargers if you care about Manning’s pre-Denver history. He threw six TDs against them last year.
Tony Romo DAL @NO I love the matchup, get him active unless you also have Manning or Brees.
Matthew Stafford DET @CHI The Bears are hurting on the back end, and Stafford is playing very well. Plus, you’ve heard of that Calvin Johnson guy, right?
Andrew Luck IND STL The Rams can be a challenging matchup, but I like Luck on his home turf here.
Russell Wilson SEA @ATL The matchup is good, and I’m not concerned about Wilson on the road. He’s a QB1 this week.
Philip Rivers SD DEN It’s a medium matchup, and Rivers is playing well, so keep him active if you normally would.
Colin Kaepernick SF CAR I’m not afraid of the tough matchup here. He’s still a QB1, plus he is at home.
Cam Newton CAR @SF This will be a challenge for Cam. That being said, he finds a way to score points in many ways, so he should be good for solid production though not a really big game. Look for Carolina to throw the 49ers’ playbook back at them when it comes to the red zone. This is a week that will feature Newton’s running ability, especially near the goal line.
Ben Roethlisberger PIT BUF He is throwing the ball well and he should be good for starter’s numbers in this home matchup.
Andy Dalton CIN @BAL The matchup is not great, but he should do pretty well here. Dalton has enough high-quality weapons to produce even in tougher matchups.
Terrelle Pryor OAK @NYG He should make enough plays to be a viable option in all leagues.
Nick Foles PHI @GB He should be ok here, but he’ll have to earn it this week.
Jay Cutler CHI DET He’s going to start, but I’d be a little careful with him this week as it was a significant injury. He has big game potential as long as you can stomach the risk.
Eli Manning NYG OAK He’s a nice option this week, though tough to trust completely some horrific out early the year. The Raiders lack a pass rush, and that should lead to a solid day for Eli.
Jake Locker TEN JAC He is playing pretty well and this is certainly a week where you can use him. He has QB1 upside if you need him.
Matt Ryan ATL SEA Has some upside if Roddy gets back on the field, but the matchup stinks.
Joe Flacco BAL CIN Not a great matchup, but he is at home.
Case Keenum HOU @ARI They can matchup with his receivers, so this will be a challenge on the road without his head coach.
Mike Glennon TB MIA He’s a an option in larger leagues, but still risky.
Seneca Wallace GB PHI A good matchup, bit there’s just now way to tell how he’ll play or what they will try to do. Avoid for now unless you are hurting for an option. I do expect a better performance then we saw last week, because Wallace has had a full week of starter’s reps. They will also have a game plan that suits Wallace’s abilities.
Ryan Tannehill MIA @TB Not looking to play him right now with all the tumult and the issues with the OL.
Carson Palmer ARI HOU This is not a good matchup for Arizona unless they can run the ball. Palmer is a dicey play this week.
EJ Manuel BUF @PIT On the road after a long layoff. Not a great spot.
Chad Henne JAC @TEN Not a good road matchup and he’s now without Blackmon. I’ll pass.
Kellen Clemens STL @IND Not a risk you want to be taking. This could get ugly.
Robert Griffin III WAS @MIN (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 8th) He struggled last week, but this is a good matchup and Griffin seems to be getting healthier.
Christian Ponder MIN WSH (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 24th) He’s not as bad as his rep says and this is a good home matchup.
