Welcome to the Week 10 Running Back Rankings. As always, I will update these rankings over the weekend to reflect changing information and practice reports. We’ve been busy this week, so check my updated Watch List and Trade Targets articles plus my Schedule Grid for those of you who want to get into matchups and such.

Look for our weekly podcast tomorrow with my buddy Jim Hackett. We’ll have a link to the podcast posted tomorrow afternoon.

Bye Weeks: Patriots, Jets, Chiefs & Browns.

Rank PLAYER TEAM Opponent THE SKINNY
Reggie Bush DET @CHI Massive upside this week.
Marshawn Lynch SEA @ATL No problem with Marshawn’s knee. He should be good to go in a plus matchup versus the Falcons.
Matt Forte CHI DET He’s played well against them.
LeSean McCoy PHI @GB Struggling, but stick with him in this system.
Le'Veon Bell PIT BUF He should be very good this week.
Chris Johnson TEN JAC He looked very good last week and this is a solid matchup.
Eddie Lacy GB PHI He is going to get a lot of work and it’s a decent matchup.
Zac Stacy STL @IND He’s looking great right now and getting tons of touches.
Knowshon Moreno DEN @SD He should get plenty of chances.
Frank Gore SF CAR Tough matchup.
Danny Woodhead SD DEN He should be the primary back this week versus Mathews. They need to spread the field.
DeMarco Murray DAL @NO He should get back to a full workload this week.
Maurice Jones-Drew JAC @TEN He’s a decent RB2 play
Mike James TB MIA We like James as we’ve said and he got a ton of work last week. He’s a very solid play against Miami.
Fred Jackson BUF @PIT Tough matchup and Spiller could get more carries this week.
C.J. Spiller BUF @PIT The Steelers usually avoid the big play, but he looked damn good in Week 9.
Ben Tate HOU @ARI Tate is the man now with Foster likely to be placed on IR which ends his 2013 season. Tate is now a player with RB1 upside if he can get healthy.
Lamar Miller MIA @TB His workload is finally on the rise and he’s a decent RB2 option this week against Tampa.
Giovani Bernard CIN @BAL He’s banged up with ribs and I might bump him up with a full Friday practice.
Ray Rice BAL CIN He’s still a RB2 in our eyes though the matchup is not great. The Raven HAVE to find a way to use him more.
Rashad Jennings OAK @NYG He should get most of the carries with McFadden likely out. It’s a good matchup.
Andre Ellington ARI HOU I like him this week as a strong flex option, but it’s not an easy matchup like Atlanta and Mendenhall will play. Head coach Bruce Arians says he wants to get Ellington 20 touches per week. If that happens his value will increase going forward.
Trent Richardson IND STL Richardson practiced on Friday and should be good to go for Sunday.
Darren Sproles NO DAL He’s practicing, so it looks like last week’s concussion has passed.
Pierre Thomas NO DAL He should stay heavily involved this week and is a decent RB2 or flex in 12-team leagues.
Steven Jackson ATL SEA He looks ok, but this matchup looks brutal.
Peyton Hillis NYG OAK Andre Brown’s return makes him more of a flex option.
Joique Bell DET @CHI He’s a flex play with some upside.
Shonn Greene TEN JAC Greene is a very nice flex play this week. He looked very good in Week 9.
Ryan Mathews SD DEN Tough matchup.
Jacquizz Rodgers ATL SEA Terrible matchup.
DeAngelo Williams CAR @SF Back to sharing more and it’s abad matchup.
Jonathan Stewart CAR @SF Bad matchup, but he has some better days ahead.
Donald Brown IND STL He’s been looking really good the last few weeks and he should get 20+ snaps again against the Rams in week 10.
Andre Brown NYG OAK A player to watch this week. He’s a flex play with RB2 upside.
Rashard Mendenhall ARI HOU He’s coming back (toe) this week. We’ll have to see how he does. It’s a bad matchup.
Dennis Johnson HOU @ARI Johnson is now a player to add in all formats with Arian Foster likely done for 2013.
Mike Tolbert CAR @SF Tough matchup and he could lose touches with Stewart healthy.
Daniel Thomas MIA @TB His prospects are dwindling, but he gets goal line touches, so he’s still a viable flex in bigger formats during the bye weeks.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis CIN @BAL He’s just a reach play in a tough matchup.
Montee Ball DEN @SD He could get more playing time than you think if the Broncos get out ahead. Denver is trying to limit Moreno’s touches to keep him fresh for the playoffs. Montee Ball makes a decent flex play in large formats.
Robert Turbin SEA @ATL He could definitely get a few extra touches in this game, because it projects to be a blowout.
James Starks GB PHI If Aaron Rodgers was starting the game, Starks would be a candidate for mop up duty in a blowout, but he will have to earn every yard he gets with Rodgers on the bench. Consequently, he is a light flex option.
Denard Robinson JAC @TEN Robinson is now a player to watch and may get 10+ touches per game going forward. He may be worth playing in future weeks but is more of a player to watch this week. He also has a hamstring issue.
Brian Leonard TB MIA Leonard will get a few receptions and is only worth I’ll play in large PPR formats.
Bryce Brown PHI @GB He’s getting more involved lately, but Brown is still a reach until they give him more touches.
Kendall Hunter SF CAR This is not a great week to use him as they will need to play Frank Gore most of the game.
Bernard Pierce BAL CIN There’s no way you should be using him outside of very deep leagues in this tough home matchup.
Marcel Reece OAK @NYG Even with McFadden injured, they are using Jennings more so than Reece.
Lance Dunbar DAL @NO He’s just a role player with DeMarco Murray healthy.
Michael Bush CHI DET He is just handcuff option at this point.
Daryl Richardson STL @IND He has been totally displaced by Stacy.
Mark Ingram NO DAL Will have to see if they start giving him more playing time, but right now you probably don’t want to use him.
Jonathan Dwyer PIT BUF He’s not getting the touches right now.
Felix Jones PIT BUF Not a viable option right now.
LaMichael James SF CAR Not a week where we expected to get much action.
Jason Snelling ATL SEA Clearly the third man on the totem pole right now.
Stepfan Taylor ARI HOU A good young player to keep an eye on but he looks like the third option this week.
Michael Cox NYG OAK He’s the fourth back in New York right now. Don’t use them for fantasy purposes.
Tashard Choice BUF @PIT With CJ Spiller back healthy Choice is now nothing but a role player.
Ronnie Hillman DEN @SD He’s been sent to Siberia.
Brandon Jacobs NYG OAK Very unlikely to play (hamstring) and hasn’t practiced.
Darren McFadden OAK @NYG He’s out with hamstring issues.
Arian Foster HOU @ARI It sounds like Foster will be getting back surgery and will be placed on injured reserve. This will end his 2013 season. Foster can be cut in all redraft formats.
Adrian Peterson MIN WSH (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 1st) He’s back at his normal level and he should post big numbers.
Toby Gerhart MIN WSH (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 61st)
Alfred Morris WAS @MIN (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 5th) Sweet matchup.
Roy Helu WAS @MIN (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 42nd)
