Welcome to the Week 7 Running Back Rankings.  The bye losses are manageable but the injuries are beginning to mount, with DeMarco Murray, Steven Jackson and C.J. Spiller all banged up.  Of the three, only Spiller is expected to play.

I’ll be posting my Starts & Sits tomorrow over at WEEI and Jim Hackett and I will be doing our weekly podcast as well. It will be posted in the afternoon. And check out the new Watch List and today's look at buying low and selling high.

If you have Week 7 lineup questions, please joing us at our Week 7 Chat over at WEEI.

Week 7 Byes: New Orleans & Oakland.

If you are looking for the Week 7 QBs, TEs or WRs, you can find them here:

RANK PLAYER TEAM Opponent THE SKINNY
Adrian Peterson MIN @NYG He should light the G-Men up.
LeSean McCoy PHI DAL He’ll run all over Dallas.
Matt Forte CHI @WAS Great matchup.
Jamaal Charles KC HOU He’ll be ok, but this is a tough matchup.
Reggie Bush DET CIN He’ll be very active and he’s better with Calvin on the field.
Knowshon Moreno DEN @IND He’s lights out right now and will be as long as his body holds up.
Arian Foster HOU @KC He’s nursing a hammy but he should be ok. Foster has been better than we expected so far this year.
Alfred Morris WAS CHI The Bears are beat up and he is primed for a big game.
Eddie Lacy GB CLE He’s going to get the ball enough to post good numbers.
Doug Martin TB @ATL Atlanta plays the run better than the pass, so he’s a light RB1.
Ray Rice BAL @PIT He’s going to get it going. He’s too good not to.
Le'Veon Bell PIT BAL Tough matchup, but they will use him a lot.
Giovani Bernard CIN @DET He can make the big play on the carpet in Detroit.
Frank Gore SF @TEN He’s a solid RB2 option, but Tennessee is a solid D.
Maurice Jones-Drew JAC SD Looking healthier than he did early on. A good RB2 play right now.
DeAngelo Williams CAR STL He’ll get his touches with Stewart still out.
Zac Stacy STL @CAR Our guy has been looking good. We still don’t know what St. Louis was waiting for.
Danny Woodhead SD @JAC He’s getting touches every week.
Trent Richardson IND DEN He’s been with the Colts a few weeks now and we expect things to improve though not a ton in this tough matchup.
Fred Jackson BUF @MIA He’ll do well here.
Stevan Ridley NE @NYJ He should be the main man on the ground now. He’s earned it.
C.J. Spiller BUF @MIA He’ll be on a tight leash again, but he can make big plays against Miami.
Bilal Powell NYJ NE He is going to be very active.
Lamar Miller MIA BUF Will they ever unleash this guy? We’ll find out. He has solid potential here.
Jacquizz Rodgers ATL TB He’s a nice play with both Snelling and Jackson banged up.
Joseph Randle DAL @PHI This is his coming out party assuming Demarco Murray sits out with a
Ryan Mathews SD @JAC Looked very good last week, so we’;; have to see if he can keep it up.
Brandon Jacobs NYG MIN He’s officially questionable for Monday night, which obviously creates a potential problem as you want to have some kind of plan B, like Peyton Hillis or Michael Cox (the other two tailbacks on the Giants’ roster.)
Willis McGahee CLE @GB Not a good matchup for Willis.
Chris Johnson TEN SF Tough matchup though Frisco is struggling more than usual against the run. Call CJ a flex this week.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis CIN @DET Always a threat to score.
Brandon Bolden NE @NYJ He’s a high upside flex. They will use him a lot this week if he is healthy.
Ben Tate HOU @KC Tough matchup though Foster is banged up, so Tate could be a factor.
Roy Helu WAS CHI Playing well and could be a flex in large leagues.
Kendall Hunter SF @TEN Always a threat to make a big play.
Chris Ogbonnaya CLE @GB He’s an underrated back and we’re glad he was able to put the concussion behind him. He should get some extra love this week against Green Bay, assuming they are playing from behind.
Jason Snelling ATL TB Banged up with a concussion. He’ll probably be able to play. Check his status. He’s a risky proposition.
Joique Bell DET CIN He’s a little banged up (ribs), so he might get a lighter work load this week. He’s likely play, but is listed as questionable.
Bernard Pierce BAL @PIT Tough matchup.
Mike Tolbert CAR STL He’s always a factor ... because he is good in all phases.
Ronnie Hillman DEN @IND Moreno is really hogging the ball.
Chris Ivory NYJ NE He looks spry. Now it’s a question of them giving him touches.
Donald Brown IND DEN Getting significant snaps.
Michael Bush CHI @WAS Strict backup so far but will see some goal line touches.
Phillip Tanner DAL @PHI No Murray, so he’ll get a little more this week.
Bryce Brown PHI DAL McCoy is stealing the show.
Daniel Thomas MIA BUF Not being used as a weapon.
Michael Cox NYG MIN He could see some action this week and he has some ability.
Daryl Richardson STL @CAR He’s been bumped off by Stacy.
LeGarrette Blount NE @NYJ He can always make the big play and he’ll get some chances.
Shonn Greene TEN SF He’s back and he’ll get a few carries, but don’t expect the world just yet.
Johnathan Franklin GB CLE Could see some extra action, perhaps even from the slot as they try to cobble together a passing game.
Montee Ball DEN @IND 3rd on the ladder for now.
Alex Green NYJ NE He’ll get some touches with Goodson done for the year.
Ronnie Brown SD @JAC He gets some action each week, but Mathews is stepping up.
Tashard Choice BUF @MIA He’s been getting some touches in place of Spiller.
Knile Davis KC HOU Not getting much behind Charles, but he is a pretty serious talent.
Jonathan Dwyer PIT BAL Clearly a role player now.
Felix Jones PIT BAL
Peyton Hillis NYG MIN He’s a guy to watch this week, but who knows how or if they will use him.
Stepfan Taylor ARI SEA (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 67th) He’s playing a little bit here and there and he’s a solid though unspectacular talent. He could form a nice long-term tandem with Ellington.
Chris Polk PHI DAL
Toby Gerhart MIN @NYG
LaMichael James SF @TEN He was not active last week.
Justin Forsett JAC SD
Jackie Battle TEN SF
Steven Jackson ATL TB He’s out again.
DeMarco Murray DAL @PHI He’s doubtful and he’s extremely unlikely to play.
Andre Ellington ARI SEA (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 32nd) He stepped up against the 49ers last week, but this matchup is even tougher. He’s a flex option in 12-team leagues if you need him.
Rashard Mendenhall ARI SEA (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 37th) Brutal matchup for a back that is splitting time.
Alfonso Smith ARI SEA (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 64th)
Marshawn Lynch SEA @ARI (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 8th) He’s listed as probable for tonight with a thigh bruise. He should be fine. Look for him to post RB1 numbers.
Robert Turbin SEA @ARI (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 46th) He could see a few extra carries if Lynch is less than 100%.
Christine Michael SEA @ARI (ALREADY PLAYED ... originally ranked 69th) He could be active if they are worried about Lynch’s hip. Michael has serious ability as I’ve mentioned often.
