Welcome to the Week 1 Tight End Rankings! These are the preliminary rankings. I’ve eyed them out and started fine tuning but they are far from set in stone. I will be updating all of the lineup ranks on Friday and Saturday—adding more comments as I go.

I really hope the tight ends stay healthy this year. The position is loaded with talent right now and the depth is at an all time high. I have several dynasty teams starting two tight ends this week. Go figure. The top 25 options are all playable and that’s with teams unexpectedly on the bye.

By the way, all of my hopes and prayers go out to anyone in the path of this damn hurricane. I’m thinking about you and praying for all my southern friends, of which there are many. Stay safe.

Programming note: The Fantasy Football Hour has been moved to Saturday afternoon this week and it will be a two hour show. Jim and I are pumped, so tune in from 3-5pm if you are in our broadcasting area. I’ll also tweet a link to the show once it’s posted on

These rankings are based on .5 PPR scoring.

1 Greg Olsen 6200 CAR CAR@SF 04:25PM ET 13.331 Always steady. Almost always productive. Good matchup.
2 Jordan Reed 5900 WAS PHI@WAS 01:00PM ET 13.046 He’s ready to go, and that’s all that matters with Reed.
3 Kyle Rudolph 4700 MIN NO@MIN 07:10PM ET 13.25 Love him in this matchup.
4 Delanie Walker 4300 TEN OAK@TEN 01:00PM ET 12.74 Sweet matchup. He’s got some legit ceiling to him this week.
5 Tyler Eifert 4600 CIN BAL@CIN 01:00PM ET 12.675 Has big upside, especially if they try to clamp down on Green. You really can’t cope with Eifert one on one. He’s a TD machine when healthy and he’s healthy right now.
6 Zach Ertz 3500 PHI PHI@WAS 01:00PM ET 13.543 He’s the chalk this week on DraftKings. A very strong play in all formats.
7 Jimmy Graham 5100 SEA SEA@GB 04:25PM ET 12.122 He’s ninth in the rankings but don’t that fool you. He’s a hair away from the 4th spot. The elites are highly grouped this week in terms of projections.
8 Martellus Bennett 4100 GB SEA@GB 04:25PM ET 10.372 Good shot at a TD and I am VERY Interested to see how they use him. This is a week where he could make a big impact.
9 Hunter Henry 3400 LAC LAC@DEN 10:20PM ET 8.175 Denver funnels the ball inside so Henry could be a big factor.
10 Eric Ebron 3600 DET ARI@DET 01:00PM ET 10.607 Medium matchup this week.
11 Austin Hooper 3000 ATL ATL@CHI 01:00PM ET 4.4 He’s in great position to have a breakout year and this is a solid matchup.
12 Evan Engram 2900 NYG NYG@DAL 08:30PM ET 0 I love his game and he’s a great fit for the Giants. Will see targets for sure this week.
13 Charles Clay 3200 BUF NYJ@BUF 01:00PM ET 9.08 The Jets are ripe for the taking and with no alpha receiver in Buffalo, Clay’s going to be heavily involved.
