Welcome to the Week 1 Tight End Rankings.  I'll be updating these rankings before Sunday, but I wanted to get them out there before Thursday Night Football.  Jimmy Graham leads the way at the top of the rankings and won't be seriously challenged unless Rob Gronkowski gets back to full strength.  Once they are posted, you can always find our weekly lineup rankings by going to the "All Rankings" tab on the top toolbar.  If you want to be aware of all updates to our weekly rankings and other content, you should consider following us on Twitter.  Click here to follow us.

If you are still looking for drafting help, go to The Rotobahn for fresh rankings and cheat sheets.

If you are looking for the RBs, WRs, QBs or the Week 1 Srats and Sits, you can find them here:

UPDATE:  I've moved all of the injured players to the bottom as well as the players who played Thursday night.  I'll be updating the receivers later today.

Rank PLAYER TEAM Opponent THE SKINNY
Jimmy Graham NO ATL Who else could I possibly rank here?
Jason Witten DAL NYG Love the matchup.
Vernon Davis SF GB He could really go off.
Jared Cook STL ARI He’s a very important weapon for them in this matchup.
Tony Gonzalez ATL @NO Has had nice games against them in the past.
Jermichael Finley GB @SF He has to show up for the 49ers to win this game and he can score against this defense. He has Rodgers and his size working for him in the red zone.
Kyle Rudolph MIN @DET Should do well here, especially if they can run the ball.
Owen Daniels HOU @SD He should get his fair share of action in a plus matchup.
Fred Davis WAS PHI He’s healthy and RGIII will be looking for him. Meanwhile, Philly’s D is a work in progress.
Antonio Gates SD HOU I thought Gates looked healthy in the preseason, but this is a nasty matchup.
Greg Olsen CAR SEA Tough matchup.
Jordan Cameron CLE MIA Should do well if he’s 100%. Has a groin issue.
Martellus Bennett CHI CIN Should see the ball but it’s a tough matchup and he may protect the passer more than normal.
Brandon Pettigrew DET MIN He knows them well and he’s in great shape for his contract year. This could be a good week for the big man.
Zach Sudfeld NE @BUF I’m liking this matchup with the Bills banged up in the secondary.
Brandon Myers NYG @DAL A solid option.
Scott Chandler BUF NE Chandler lit up the Pats last year.
Coby Fleener IND OAK He should be the healthiest of the tight ends and it’s a great matchup.
Rob Gronkowski NE @BUF He’s doubtful and very unlikely to play.
Tyler Eifert CIN @CHI He’s a sleeper but I hate the matchup.
Dwayne Allen IND OAK He could do very well if he’s 100%, but he’s been out a few weeks, so tough to tell.
Brent Celek PHI @WSH Was the best TE they had in preseason.
Jermaine Gresham CIN @CHI He may be blocking more than usual this week.
Zach Miller SEA @CAR Still trying to get all the way back from foot surgery and is a player to watch closely.
Benjamin Watson NO ATL He could score and make a few plays. A great fit for this offense. A smart way to back up Jimmy Graham in really deep leagues.
Anthony Fasano KC @JAC He’s going to get some chances with the offense and with only Bowe established.
Jeff Cumberland NYJ TB Cumberland has a tough matchup, but the Jets will have to throw eventually.
Zach Ertz PHI @WSH Ertz could accumulate value quickly if he play enough.
Vance McDonald SF GB We love this kid, but we need to see how much they use him before he’s a useful option.
Luke Stocker TB @NYJ He’s not trustworthy at all, but the Jets can be soft against tight ends.
Kellen Winslow NYJ TB Could have one big game while he’s healthy, but I ain’t betting on it.
Delanie Walker TEN @PIT Hasn’t played in the new offense enough to know what he’ll be.
Tony Scheffler DET MIN Always a threat to make a big play.
Travis Kelce KC @JAC Coming back from injury, but a player to watch for sure. I like this kid’s moxie.
Marcedes Lewis JAC KC Should see the ball a lot with Blackmon out for the first month. ***UPDATE*** He’s been ruled out for Week 1.
Rob Housler ARI @STL Dealing with a significant ankle sprain. May not play and a very risky option even if he does. Should be an asset once he gets healthy. ***UPDATE*** He’s been ruled out.
David Ausberry OAK @IND He’s a nasty dude and he might make some noise here. ***UPDATE*** He’s been ruled out.
Julius Thomas DEN BAL ALREADY PLAYED .... We like him, but he’s still got to do it and his recent off-field drama is less than good news.
Ed Dickson BAL @DEN ALREADY PLAYED .... Good matchup, but it’s hard to know if he’s ready as he comes back from a significant hamstring injury.
Dallas Clark BAL @DEN ALREADY PLAYED
