Welcome to the Week 2 Tight End Rankings. As I said with the other rankings, there will be some changes when I update these on Saturday. There is really not a lot to talk about with the tight ends tonight. The most valuable one may be Kellen Winslow, which is ironic when you consider his injury history and all the younger guys out with various maladies.

Jim Hackkett and I sat down for another podcast today, you can listen here.

If you are looking for the QB, RB or WR rankings or Nick's new Buy Low Sell High article, you can find them here:

Rank PLAYER TEAM Opponent THE SKINNY
Jimmy Graham NO @TB He’ll have to earn it this week, but he’s a red zone nightmare.
Jared Cook STL @ATL Looking even better than I anticipated.
Vernon Davis SF @SEA He’s the biggest weapon they have against Seattle.
Jordan Cameron CLE @BAL Cleveland really needs Cameron this week. He’ll be Weeden’s go-to guy.
Julius Thomas DEN @NYG Should make a few big plays.
Greg Olsen CAR @BUF Better matchup than last week. The Bills are a mess on the back end.
Martellus Bennett CHI MIN He’s looking very good.
Jason Witten DAL @KC Romo could be limited and it’s a poor matchup.
Tony Gonzalez ATL STL May not be able to feed off of Julio and Roddy as both are banged up. Still a TE1.
Jermichael Finley GB WAS Could be banged up. Check status later in week.
Owen Daniels HOU TEN Scored twice last week, so keep riding him while he’s hot.
Antonio Gates SD @PHI He’s moving well and is worth a play this week.
Brandon Myers NYG DEN He can start for you if you need him.
Kyle Rudolph MIN @CHI Tough matchup this week but he’s scored against them before.
Brent Celek PHI SD Looked very good last week. The news of him being relegated to blocking were greatly exaggerated.
Fred Davis WAS @GB Looked good last week, but needs more targets and snaps.
Tyler Eifert CIN PIT Better days ahead but this is a bad matchup.
Scott Chandler BUF CAR He looked like he was running and moving well last week. He’s a TD threat.
Brandon Pettigrew DET @ARI Had shaky hands last week and need to step it up. He’s moving well and in a contract year, so it’s too soon to give up just yet.
Coby Fleener IND MIA Should get some extra looks with Allen likely down.
Jordan Reed WAS @GB I think this kid could be very good, but his role is still evolving. He could be playable soon. Shanahan’s offense works very well with two tight ends.
Zach Miller SEA SF Tough matchup, but he’s looking like he’ll be a viable play on a lot of weeks.
Jermaine Gresham CIN PIT He’s going to block a lot this week.
Vance McDonald SF @SEA Still a player to watch. He could make a few plays this week and he’s going to be a factor in the red zone at some point.
Ed Dickson BAL CLE Has the potential but he needs to make it happen and show that he’s over the hamstring tear. He looked step slow in Week 1, which is understandable.
Dallas Clark BAL CLE Heavily involved so far, but not what he was.
Charles Clay MIA @IND He’ll get some balls each week with Dustin Keller gone.
Anthony Fasano KC DAL He’s the only option in KC right now at tight end with Moeaki done for the year and Kelce banged up.
Benjamin Watson NO @TB He’s looking good and is rosterable in really big leagues.
Joseph Fauria DET @ARI Played some last week and caught a score. He’s a guy I like and a player to watch in large redraft leagues.
Delanie Walker TEN @HOU We’ll see how healthy he look this week. Had a shaky Week 1.
Mychal Rivera OAK JAC He’s the man with Ausberry banged up.
Zach Ertz PHI SD Not where he needs to be just yet, but still a guy to keep an eye on.
Rob Gronkowski NE NYJ He won’t play tonight.
Dwayne Allen IND MIA He’s now doubtful, so you need to look elsewhere most likely.
Marcedes Lewis JAC @OAK Very unlikely to play.
Zach Sudfeld NE NYJ Sudfeld has been deactivated.
Kellen Winslow NYJ @NE (ALREADY PLAYED) Looked good last week and can be used in bigger formats if you need him.
Jeff Cumberland NYJ @NE (ALREADY PLAYED) He’ll play and he has upside if he’s over the rough hit he took last week.
Michael Hoomanawanui NE NYJ (ALREADY PLAYED) Could be a factor and he is a good football player if he can stay healthy, but you can do better.
Heath Miller PIT @CIN He’s been ruled out for Week 2.
