Tight End Rankings Week 6
UPDATED 10/14 (Sunday)
Welcome to the week six tight end rankings. I will be updating the rankings as we get better information and Friday’s practice reports. Check back if you have some players with injuries or players whose viability depends on the status of an injured player. We will be tweeting injury info on Sunday, so feel free to go to the home page and sign up to follow us.
Tight end is a very deep position, so you have plenty of options if you lost a player to the bye or to injury. There should be plenty of solid choices on the typical waiver wire.

BYE WEEK
- Jimmy Graham
- Greg Olsen
- Kellen Davis
- Marcedes Lewis
| Rank | PLAYER | TEAM | Opponent | THE SKINNY |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rob Gronkowski | NE | @SEA | Probable (hip) |
| 2 | Vernon Davis | SF | NYG | |
| 3 | Tony Gonzalez | ATL | OAK | |
| 4 | Owen Daniels | HOU | GB | |
| 5 | Antonio Gates | SD | DEN | They will need him here. |
| 6 | Jason Witten | DAL | @BAL | |
| 7 | Fred Davis | WAS | MIN | |
| 8 | Brent Celek | PHI | DET | |
| 9 | Kyle Rudolph | MIN | @WAS | |
| 10 | Brandon Pettigrew | DET | @PHI | Probable (knee.) He’ll play at less than 100%, |
| 11 | Aaron Hernandez | NE | @SEA | It sounds like he’ll play, but in a limited capacity. He’s got upside but tons of risk with limited snaps and also a rough matchup. Play him if you need him, but know the risks. |
| 12 | Jermaine Gresham | CIN | @CLE | |
| 13 | Scott Chandler | BUF | @ARI | |
| 14 | Jacob Tamme | DEN | @SD | He looks good to go. (groin) |
| 15 | Dennis Pitta | BAL | DAL | |
| 16 | Coby Fleener | IND | @NYJ | |
| 17 | Brandon Myers | OAK | @ATL | |
| 18 | Jermichael Finley | GB | @HOU | He’s a game time decision with a shoulder injury. Make sure you have a fallback option if you wait it our. Joel Dreesen on Monday Night could be one option. DJ Williams is another, but he has a hamstring issue himself. Avoiding this situation entirely is an advisable move. |
| 19 | Joel Dreessen | DEN | @SD | |
| 20 | Anthony Fasano | MIA | STL | |
| 21 | Martellus Bennett | NYG | @SF | He is not healthy, but he’ll probably play. We’d avoid him if you have another decent option. |
| 22 | Lance Kendricks | STL | @MIA | |
| 23 | Dustin Keller | NYJ | IND | Questionable (hamstring.) It looks like he’ll play and that is good news, but we’d avoid him for a week to make sure. Keller could have value going forward. There’s a target vacuum in NY. |
| 24 | Dwayne Allen | IND | @NYJ | |
| 25 | D.J. Williams | GB | @HOU | Could be a viable play in deep leagues if Finley sits, which he easily could. |
| 26 | Rob Housler | ARI | BUF | |
| 27 | Tony Scheffler | DET | @PHI | |
| 28 | Tony Moeaki | KC | @TB | |
| 29 | Dallas Clark | TB | KC | |
| 30 | Jordan Cameron | CLE | CIN | |
| 31 | Todd Heap | ARI | BUF | Game time decision with knee injury. Avoid him. |
| 32 | Ben Watson | CLE | CIN | |
| 33 | Ed Dickson | BAL | DAL | |
| 34 | Zach Miller | SEA | NE | |
| 35 | Heath Miller | PIT | @TEN | Played Thursday |
| 36 | Jared Cook | TEN | PIT | Played Thursday |
