Welcome to the Week 9 Tight End Rankings.

The tight end field is bad but not nearly as confounding as the receivers are this week. There are enough good options for most GMs to find something workable. Keep an eye on Delanie Walker who may sit out. Vernon Davis is the guy to go after on the waiver wire. If he’s gone, Nick O’Leary has a shot at doing some things. Ryan Griffin is another option but the Deshaun Watson injury take some shine off that play. Tough times.

I’ll update these rankings on Saturday.

Bye losses:

  • Patriots
  • Steelers
  • Chargers
  • Vikings
  • Bears
  • Browns

These rankings are based on .5 PPR scoring.

Rank PLAYER TEAM Cost Matchup PPG THE SKINNY
1 Travis Kelce KC 6700 KC@DAL 11/05/2017 04:25PM ET 16.663 He’s a stud and finally they are making a point to get him the ball.
2 Zach Ertz PHI 6800 DEN@PHI 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 16.35 He’ll see the ball plenty though it’s a tough matchup. He has a hamstring strain but he’s expected to play. DEN funnels balls inside and to the TE so volume should be good.
3 Jimmy Graham SEA 5000 WAS@SEA 11/05/2017 04:05PM ET 11.271 Looking better the last two weeks save for a few drops in Week 7.
4 Evan Engram NYG 5600 LAR@NYG 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 11.743 I’m interested to see how he handles being a focal point of defenses.
5 Jack Doyle IND 4300 IND@HOU 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 13.257 Getting serious usage right now.
6 Vernon Davis WAS 4100 WAS@SEA 11/05/2017 04:05PM ET 7.6 Earl Thomas is banged up and Davis will get loads of snaps with Reed out and Crowder banged up.
7 Tyler Kroft CIN 3900 CIN@JAX 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 8.829 Getting consistent action and he’ll be involved with Jax’s corners funneling the ball inside.
8 Cameron Brate TB 4500 TB@NO 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 13.643 He gets red zone love on a very consistent basis.
9 Jared Cook OAK 4000 OAK@MIA 11/05/2017 08:30PM ET 9.538 Hate him but he’s viable on a down week.
10 Delanie Walker TEN 4900 BAL@TEN 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 9.886 Very questionable (ankle), but got in a limited practice so could end up playing.
11 Benjamin Watson BAL 2700 BAL@TEN 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 8.125 Always involved in the red zone.
12 O.J. Howard TB 2700 TB@NO 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 7.586 Has massive upside and a floor that scares folks off, but ALL of these TEs have weak floors. Might as well use the guy with 25 point upside.
13 Ryan Griffin HOU 3000 IND@HOU 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 6.133 Will start but no Watson is a drag.
14 Jason Witten DAL 4600 KC@DAL 11/05/2017 04:25PM ET 11.771 Could see more balls but will also see tighter coverage with no Zeke keeping guys in the box.
15 Austin Hooper ATL 3700 ATL@CAR 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 9.5 He’s good every other week.
16 Ed Dickson CAR 3100 ATL@CAR 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 7.488 Still a viable option until Olsen returns.
17 Jonnu Smith TEN 3400 BAL@TEN 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 4.814 Could be a nice deep option if Walker sits.
18 A.J. Derby DEN 2900 DEN@PHI 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 7.014 A dart throw with Osweiler in there.
19 George Kittle SF 3200 ARI@SF 11/05/2017 04:05PM ET 6.875
20 Eric Ebron DET 2900 DET@GB 11/06/2017 08:30PM ET 5.286

22 Marcedes Lewis JAX 2600 CIN@JAX 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 5.929
23 Julius Thomas MIA 2600 OAK@MIA 11/05/2017 08:30PM ET 4.829 Good matchup but he’s been invisible and losing snaps to Fasano.
24 Martellus Bennett GB 3000 DET@GB 11/06/2017 08:30PM ET 6.757 Looks like he could miss a week (shoulder) and he has QB issues.
25 Coby Fleener NO 2700 TB@NO 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 5.857
26 Gerald Everett LAR 2600 LAR@NYG 11/05/2017 01:00PM ET 4.057

35 Austin Seferian-Jenkins NYJ 4900 BUF@NYJ 11/02/2017 08:25PM ET 11.35 (ALREADY PLAYED) Should see plenty of looks tonight.
36 Nick O'Leary BUF 3100 BUF@NYJ 11/02/2017 08:25PM ET 3.857 (ALREADY PLAYED) He’s viable with all their receivers banged up, dropping balls or sitting out. And, no Clay again.
37 Charles Clay BUF 4100 BUF@NYJ 11/02/2017 08:25PM ET 12.16 (ALREADY PLAYED) OUT
