Week 2 Lineup Rankings - Tight Ends
Golden Graham
Welcome to the week two tight end rankings. There are a lot of quality options to choose from and we’d be ok with starting as many as 21 of the guys we’ve listed and that’s with Jermichael Finley already removed along with Kellen Davis as both have played already. As I mentioned already, we’ll be tweeting key injury news tomorrow so sign up to follow us if you haven’t already. Just follow the link on the homepage. If you have any big lineup decisions, feel free to drop me a question in our forum. I check it regularly and it is one of our under-used resources. Registration is required for anti-spam purposes, but it’s free.
Good luck to all in week two!
| Rank | PLAYER | TEAM | Opponent | THE SKINNY |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Jimmy Graham | NO | @CAR | He’s going to do very bad things to Carolina and very good things for you.
Rob Gronkowski | NE | ARI | He just might score. Call us crazy.
Aaron Hernandez | NE | ARI | Looking healthy, which means he is a monster.
Vernon Davis | SF | DET | We like him every week. He’s harder to double with a deeper team around him and he’s a monster after the catch.
Antonio Gates | SD | TEN | He should get back on track.
Tony Gonzalez | ATL | DEN | They will need Gonzo in this one. Keep him active.
Jared Cook | TEN | @SD | We like him to step up this week with a banged up Washington and Britt just coming back with a snap count.
Jason Witten | DAL | @SEA | Should be back to normal. He’s a solid play.
Jacob Tamme | DEN | @ATL | Should be a solid play in a game where Manning needs to get the ball out fast.
Fred Davis | WAS | @STL | He should do well here. They need to keep him involved. He’s their best big target.
Kyle Rudolph | MIN | @IND | He’s a big part of the offense and can start for you in all formats. Solid matchup too.
Jermaine Gresham | CIN | CLE | We like him to bounce back strong.
Brandon Pettigrew | DET | @SF | He may be asked to block a bit more than normal this week, but he looked good last week.
Coby Fleener | IND | MIN | He looked good in week one, so you should be ok with him in a solid week two matchup.
Greg Olsen | CAR | NO | He was active last week and that should continue.
Owen Daniels | HOU | @JAC | He was good last week and we are hopeful. You can start him.
Dennis Pitta | BAL | @PHI | We like him, but he does compete for snaps with Dickson. Pitta may be pulling away. We recommended him in this week’s waiver wire. He should be rostered in all but small formats.
Scott Chandler | BUF | KC | He looked good last week and he lit them up last year. He is very playable.
Marcedes Lewis | JAC | HOU | He’s another solid option with Gabbert looking far more functional than last season. Marcedes looked very good last week. He should be owned.
Brent Celek | PHI | BAL | He is very underrated and they should need him in this game, but it’ll be rough sledding at the same time. He’s playable.
Martellus Bennett | NYG | TB | We’d like to see more, but he’s got upside this week. He has the potential and should be rostered in medium to large formats.
Lance Kendricks | STL | WAS | Light in week one but they will try to use him more. Not a great play right now, but he may be soon.
Heath Miller | PIT | NYJ | The Jets are improved at safety and he may need to block out blitzers a lot in week two. Miller’s a reasonable option, but we expect them to attack the Jets at cornerback with Darrelle Revis out for the game.
Tony Moeaki | KC | @BUF | Looked good last week, but KC is tough to figure. He’s a guy to keep an eye on for sure.
Ed Dickson | BAL | @PHI | He’s got good ability but they seem to be trending to Pitta, so we’re not loving Dickson as a fantasy play right now.
Tony Scheffler | DET | @SF | Scheff was active last week and almost scored but he dropped it. He is a reasonable desperation heave in a big league.
Joel Dreessen | DEN | @ATL | He’s a threat. He’s not a bad play in a big league if you are in need.
Kevin Boss | KC | @BUF | He scored, but we expect Moeaki to be more active on most weeks.
Zach Miller | SEA | DAL | Actually caught a few last week and has talent. Worth monitoring but not a good play.
Anthony Fasano | MIA | OAK | He could score and make a play or two, but he needs to be more active with Tannehill at the helm before we consider recommending him.
Todd Heap | ARI | @NE | He played more then Rob Housler in week one, but we’d avoid him for fantasy purposes.
Dallas Clark | TB | @NYG | We think he is near done.
Ben Watson | CLE | @CIN | Not involved enough and QB is struggling.
David Ausberry | OAK | @MIA | We like him, but he only had a single grab. If he gets more involved, he could have some value.
James Casey | HOU | @JAC | He makes some plays but he's not consistent.
Jordan Cameron | CLE | @CIN | A player to watch but he was not used much in week one.
Rob Housler | ARI | @NE | He needs to get ahead of Heap before you can use him.
Dwayne Allen | IND | MIN | He was not at all involved, but things change and he is very talented. He’s a guy to watch though not a guy to roster outside of dynasty.
