Welcome the the Week 3 wide receiver rankings. I’ll be back with the backs and tight ends before kickoff tonight and I’ll update all of the rankings on Saturday to reflect practice and injury reports. I’ll be back tomorrow with my Starts and Sits column at  Jim Hackett and I will be doing a podcast tomorrow morning where we’ll cover a whole host of issues, including tonight’s game.  I'll be posting links to all WEEI content in The Rotobahn.  That's the place to go if you can't find something.  I'm indexing all in-season content there.

I’ll be back around 6 pm with the tight ends.

Calvin Johnson DET @WAS Great matchup.
A.J. Green CIN GB He should post WR1 numbers.
Dez Bryant DAL STL Expected to play though he’s being held out of practices. Check status this weekend.
Julio Jones ATL @MIA Hard to see him failing in a game that calls for the pass. Check his status due to sore knee.
Demaryius Thomas DEN OAK Monster game potential here.
Victor Cruz NYG @CAR Playing at a really high level right now and seeing the ball a ton.
Brandon Marshall CHI @PIT Sore back. Check his status this weekend, but he’s a good play if he goes.
Randall Cobb GB @CIN He looks great so far.
Jordy Nelson GB @CIN He’s obviously over the knee thing and looking like he did in 2011.
Vincent Jackson TB @NE He’s looking great so far and he just missed a huge score last week on an illegal shift call that had zip to do with the play. V-Jax is state-of-the-art.
Pierre Garcon WAS DET They will have to throw here and he’s looked good so far.
Andre Johnson HOU @BAL His concussion has cleared up and he’ll play. It’s a tough matchup with Balt’s corners.
Larry Fitzgerald ARI @NO Fitz did some practice in Friday and he looks likely to go. He’s looking better than last week, but he’s still not 100%.
Torrey Smith BAL HOU He battled last week in a bad matchup and that really bodes well for his chances going forward.
Mike Wallace MIA ATL Wallace should be good for a WR2 day and maybe a lot more.
Eric Decker DEN OAK Looked good last week and should get into the end zone soon.
Anquan Boldin SF IND Great matchup for him.
Hakeem Nicks NYG @CAR Looking good so far.
Wes Welker DEN OAK Less utilized last week, but he’s obviously a weekly play.
Steve Smith CAR NYG Good matchup for Smith.
Reggie Wayne IND @SF Bad matchup here.
Marques Colston NO ARI He’s in a tough matchup but he was last week two. He’s worth a start.
Julian Edelman NE TB Revis could be a problem.
Tavon Austin STL @DAL He may have arrived last week and he looks like a strong WR3 play in Week 3.
James Jones GB @CIN He should continue to do well. We’ve seen both extremes with Jones. I expect something in-between in Week 3. Not exactly a risky call.
Stevie Johnson BUF @NYJ He seems to fit ok in the new offense and he has a tendency to play well against the Jets.
Chris Givens STL @DAL He has a 100-yard game last week and should be just fine against the Cowboys this week.
DeAndre Hopkins HOU @BAL He’s a very good young player and he’ll make plays if they throw him the ball. This week’s matchup is tough. Lardarius Webb and Jimmy Smith can play.
Michael Floyd ARI @NO I like this matchup for him and Fitz will not get his usual number of snaps.
Josh Gordon CLE @MIN Call him a risky WR3 this week with Hoyer starting and no T-Rich to draw defenders into the box.
Brian Hartline MIA ATL He’s a solid WR3 play.
T.Y. Hilton IND @SF He is nursing a groin and that might have something to do with Da’Rick Rogers’ activation from the practice squad, but he’s listed as probable, so he’s very likely to play. It’s obviously a tough matchup.
Eddie Royal SD @TEN He’s officially a big part of the Chargers’ offense.
Golden Tate SEA JAC He could bust out a bit this week.
Antonio Brown PIT CHI Not happy right now due to lack of targets and this is a bad matchup.
Roddy White ATL @MIA He’s been limited all week and you have to wonder if Atlanta was thinking straight when they let him play in Week 2. White is a risly play, but I’m still calling him a WR3 in 12-team leagues.
Mike Williams TB @NE Coming off a bad week, but he’s going to see the ball. This guy is underrated.
Cecil Shorts JAC @SEA Terrible matchup/circumstances. Just terrible. You have to feel for HC Gus Bradley right now.
Miles Austin DAL STL Medium matchup this week, but teams will leaning heavy to Bryant in the coming weeks. Austin should produce steady WR3 numbers.
Emmanuel Sanders PIT CHI Looking good so far.
Lance Moore NO ARI He’ll get it going and is a decent flex in 12-team leagues this week.
Rueben Randle NYG @CAR Just missed a score and fumbled on the play last week, but I expect a bounce back. Randle’s involvement is going to continue to grow.
Marlon Brown BAL HOU He’s a big part of the game plan right now.
Kenbrell Thompkins NE TB He’s got plenty of upside this week and he makes a nice flex in 12-team leagues.
Vincent Brown SD @TEN He’s playing most of the snaps and a breakout could come at any time.
Alshon Jeffery CHI @PIT Not a great matchup, but he is looking pretty good.
Aaron Dobson NE TB Unless Gronk is back, they are going to use Dobson plenty this week. He just missed a few big plays last week in addition to the TD he did score.
Andre Roberts ARI @NO He’s a decent flex option in 12-team leagues.
Austin Pettis STL @DAL He is an underrated player and he’s playing very well, but there are too many guys in the Rams’ offense for Pettis to be a consistent threat.
Greg Jennings MIN CLE Could be eaten by CB Joe Haden so be careful.
Nate Burleson DET @WAS He’s playable in 12-team leagues as flex, but Broyles should play this week.
Santonio Holmes NYJ BUF A player to watch as he’s looked healthier than advertised so far.
Rod Streater OAK @DEN He’s a decent flex.
Robert Woods BUF @NYJ Not a great matchup, but he is going to be a very good player.
Sidney Rice SEA JAC He needs to show that he’s fully healthy, but he still has some value and is becoming a forgotten man. He’s a reasonable flex ioption in Week 3.
Mohamed Sanu CIN GB He’s capable but they are using Marvin Jones too and he’s also capable.
Kenny Stills NO ARI He’s going to keep getting better though he was not targeted much in Week 2.
Stephen Hill NYJ BUF Hill is a player to keep an eye on as the jets work through their growing pains. He could have some value down the line.
Darrius Heyward-Bey IND @SF Has a bruised shoulder and it not producing yet.
Denarius Moore OAK @DEN Tough matchup and he is yielding too many snaps right now.
Leonard Hankerson WAS DET Banged up with a groin so check his Sunday status before activating him.
Brandon LaFell CAR NYG
Davone Bess CLE @MIN Starting now.
Jerome Simpson MIN CLE
Harry Douglas ATL @MIA
Santana Moss WAS DET
Brandon Gibson MIA ATL
Cordarrelle Patterson MIN CLE He’s going to play more this week and he posted 7 fantasy points in Week 2 thanks to his first touchdown on a kick return. The Vikings have been forcing him to play split end exclusively for some reason. Freaking Vikings. HC Leslie Frazier indicates that Patterson’s snaps will increase starting this week.
Kenny Britt TEN SD
Kyle Williams SF IND
Ryan Broyles DET @WAS Sounds like he’ll play this week. More of a player to watxh at this point, but Broyles has some upside if he is 100%. He’s a very very good receiver.
Ace Sanders JAC @SEA
Nate Washington TEN SD
Kendall Wright TEN SD He’s a little banged up with a concussion and could miss this week’s game. Check his status on Sunday if you plan to use him.
Markus Wheaton PIT CHI He only saw a few snaps last week but I expect his role to grow going forward and Ben Roethlisberger said as much this week.
Quinton Patton SF IND Still a guy to keep an eye on despite the lack of stats. Patton has a lot of upside.
Greg Little CLE @MIN He’s been demoted, but I think he’ll get together eventually. Not playable right now.
Keshawn Martin HOU @BAL His role is growing and he is a player to pay attention to in larger formats.
Marvin Jones CIN GB He’s been seeing more snaps and is a player to watch in larger leagues and dynasty.
Doug Baldwin SEA JAC
Brice Butler OAK @DEN He played about half of the snaps last week and he could start gaining value at some point. He’s already worth a look in 14-team leagues.
Jerricho Cotchery PIT CHI
Clyde Gates NYJ BUF He got more playing time last week than he ever has in his career. He’ll go back to a smaller role this week with Kerley returning, but Gates is a player to keep an eye on.
Ted Ginn CAR NYG
Brandon Stokley BAL HOU
Josh Morgan WAS DET
Keenan Allen SD @TEN
Jeremy Kerley NYJ BUF
Terrance Williams DAL STL
Earl Bennett CHI @PIT
T.J. Graham BUF @NYJ
Jacoby Ford OAK @DEN
Stephen Burton JAC @SEA
Dwayne Bowe KC @PHI (Already Played) He gained some steam in Week 2 and they’ll be ready for this one.
Donnie Avery KC @PHI (Already Played)
Dexter McCluster KC @PHI (Already Played)
DeSean Jackson PHI KC (Already Played) Tough matchup and I could see them taking him away. That said, he’s way to hot to even consider benching.
Riley Cooper PHI KC (Already Played) Cooper found the zone last week and he’s going to have room to work with teams looking to take DeSean Jackson away from Vick.
Jason Avant PHI KC (Already Played)
Damaris Johnson PHI KC (Already Played)
