Welcome to the Week 6 Wide Receiver Rankings. These are preliminary rankings, and I’ll update over the weekend as I always do. It’s a tough week for Julio Jones owners. I feel your pain. That’s a big void to fill. Hopefully you’ve been using our waiver wire all year and have accumulated the depth you need to try and deal for a WR1.

I’ll add comments for a lot more receivers when I update the rankings. There are comments included for all of tonight’s options. I’ll be back with the running backs before kickoff.

         Bye weeks:

  • Mike Wallace
  • Roddy White
  • Brandon Gibson
  • Harry Douglas
  • Brian Hartline

Rank PLAYER TEAM Opponent THE SKINNY
Dez Bryant DAL WAS He’s destroying everything in his path.
A.J. Green CIN @BUF He should drop some truth on Buffalo.
Demaryius Thomas DEN JAC What we have here ... is a mismatch.
Torrey Smith BAL GB He’s going to be targeted a ton in this game.
Wes Welker DEN JAC He should get a score along the way.
Danny Amendola NE NO He should see the ball a ton.
Eric Decker DEN JAC Hard to imagine him getting shut out and he’s been very active lately.
Randall Cobb GB @BAL He should find some space in the middle against the Ravens.
Calvin Johnson DET @CLE No way you sit him, but it’s a tough matchup with CB Joe Haden and he’s obviously less than 100%.
Pierre Garcon WAS @DAL They should throw a lot in this game as they try and keep pace with Romo and Bryant.
Reggie Wayne IND @SD This is a solid matchup.
Vincent Jackson TB PHI A good matchup, but he may be limited a bit by the rookie QB.
Andre Johnson HOU STL He’s listed as questionable, but he is very likely to play and says he feels better than he did in Week 5.
Josh Gordon CLE DET They will go to him in this game and try to stretch the field.
Jordy Nelson GB @BAL They have good corners, but he’ll make some plays.
James Jones GB @BAL He’s been hot even since his week 1 flame-out.
DeSean Jackson PHI @TB Tough matchup.
T.Y. Hilton IND @SD He’s looking good now after scorching Seattle for a pair of scores.
Steve Smith CAR @MIN He should get some points in this matchup.
Justin Blackmon JAC @DEN His team wont’ win, but Blackmon can help your fantasy team this week.
Antonio Brown PIT @NYJ Brown should be just fine against the Jets with Cromartie banged up and Milliner out.
Cecil Shorts JAC @DEN Shorts returned to practice on Friday and should be good to go. The Jags will throw it a lot in this game.
Marques Colston NO @NE He’s a decent play as a WR2. The Pats will look to stop Graham first, obviously.
Larry Fitzgerald ARI @SF A tough matchup and he is listed as questionable, but he is likely to play and Fitz can always make the big play.
Golden Tate SEA TEN He’s looked good last week, but the Titans are not a pushover in the secondary. He’s a solid WR3, but don’t look for the big game here.
DeAndre Hopkins HOU STL I expect him to start bouncing back.
Dwayne Bowe KC OAK He’s a player that should continue to get better as he acclimates to a new system. This is a solid matchup.
Vincent Brown SD IND The Colts are a solid defense, but Brown is starting to get more productive and Rivers knows him better than anybody else left on the team after Gates.
Anquan Boldin SF ARI Tough matchup and Boldin’s been a bit hit and miss, but he’s worth a WR3 play in 12-team formats.
Julian Edelman NE NO He should be a lot more active than he was in Week 5 and it’s a better matchup.
Emmanuel Sanders PIT @NYJ He should have good matchups most of the day with injuries in the Jets secondary.
Michael Floyd ARI @SF He’ll have to play tough to get it done against the 49ers. He certainly has a chance and Arizona will be playing from behind most likely.
Keenan Allen SD IND He’s coming on strong now that he’s getting regular work.
Denarius Moore OAK @KC Moore is playing well, but this is a tough matchup.
Austin Pettis STL @HOU He’s Bradford’s most trusted target at this point. He has WR3 value in 12-team leagues.
Leonard Hankerson WAS @DAL I’m liking Hankerson this week. He should be active.
Greg Jennings MIN CAR He’s obviously raised his game a bit with Cassel under center. He’s a nice flex option in 12-team leagues.
Kenbrell Thompkins NE NO Play him if you need him. He could easily score.
Brandon LaFell CAR @MIN This could be a good week to play LaFell.
Mike Williams TB PHI Good matchup, but he’s been limited all week and sat Friday out completely. He should play, but he’s a risky proposition.
Kendall Wright TEN @SEA Tough matchup.
Jeremy Kerley NYJ PIT Tough matchup, but he’ll be active.
Ted Ginn CAR @MIN Ginn has been playing surprisingly good ball and his routes have looked better than in the past. He’s got some upside.
Donnie Avery KC OAK He could do well here if he’s healthy. Make sure he’s active as he’s been limited in practice this week.
Jerome Simpson MIN CAR Tough matchup, but he’s been a playmaker this year.
Nate Washington TEN @SEA Brutal matchup for Nate.
Mohamed Sanu CIN @BUF I like his chances of making a big play this week.
Aaron Dobson NE NO Dobson’s role is a bit sketchy, but he’s the most physical player New England has in the passing game right now. He’s a player to watch and he’s a potential flex in deeper leagues.
Kenny Stills NO @NE Lance Moore should sit again and Stills is due for a big play. He’s got the speed to get deep. He’ll have some good matchups this weekend.
Terrance Williams DAL WAS Miles Austin is back and expected to start, but I expect Williams to outplay the veteran.
Stephen Hill NYJ PIT Tough matchup for Hill, but he’s playing decent ball.
Tavon Austin STL @HOU He had a bad drop last week and they aren’t using him as we expected they would. He’s a risky play but he always has some big play potential.
Robert Woods BUF CIN Tough matchup and he’s got QB problems.
Stevie Johnson BUF CIN He’s very questionable to play and I don’t like him much even if he goes. Tough matchup and a potentially shaky QB.
Eddie Royal SD IND The monster start is a fading memory.
Miles Austin DAL WAS He’s back but he’s a risky play considering how big an impact Williams has had the last few weeks.
Jerricho Cotchery PIT @NYJ He’s a viable option in deeper leagues with Wheaton likely to miss the game with a broken pinkie.
Ryan Broyles DET @CLE They say he is off his snap count and fully healthy. Broyles is a very good player when fully healthy. He’s a risky start but definitely a guy to watch closely this week.
Santana Moss WAS @DAL There should be some fireworks in this game and Moss could get involved.
Doug Baldwin SEA TEN He’s playing very well but his role limits his fantasy potential.
Rod Streater OAK @KC Tough matchup, but he showed up last week,
Chris Givens STL @HOU They are really spreading the ball around in St. Louis. It’s killing the fantasy value of all involved as is the play of the OL and the QB. The OC (Brian Schottenheimer) ain’t helping either.
Darrius Heyward-Bey IND @SD
Greg Little CLE DET
Kris Durham DET @CLE
Sidney Rice SEA TEN
Jason Avant PHI @TB
Davone Bess CLE DET
Cordarrelle Patterson MIN CAR
Jermaine Kearse SEA TEN
Jon Baldwin SF ARI
Patrick Edwards DET @CLE
Marlon Brown BAL GB
Dexter McCluster KC OAK
Andre Roberts ARI @SF
Tandon Doss BAL GB
Jacoby Jones BAL GB
Riley Cooper PHI @TB
Kenny Britt TEN @SEA
Cole Beasley DAL WAS
Ace Sanders JAC @DEN
Clyde Gates NYJ PIT
Santonio Holmes NYJ PIT
Jarius Wright MIN CAR
Lance Moore NO @NE
Damian Williams TEN @SEA
Brandon Marshall CHI NYG (Already played ... originally ranked 3rd) Should go off in this game. No way you should sit him.
Alshon Jeffery CHI NYG (Already played ... originally ranked 20th) He’s been playing great. Keep him active.
Earl Bennett CHI NYG (Already played ... originally ranked 76th)
Victor Cruz NYG @CHI (Already played ... originally ranked 14th) He’s going to get lots of looks. He should have a decent game at minimum.
Hakeem Nicks NYG @CHI (Already played ... originally ranked 28th) Looked pretty good last week. Should post solid numbers tonight.
Rueben Randle NYG @CHI (Already played ... originally ranked 45th) He’ll get loose against the Bears’ weaker defenders. He’s a worthy flex in 12-team leagues.
